In his second letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul helps to disciple them by embracing generosity as an act of grace (2 Corinthians 8:7). For Paul, and our church, generosity is a reflection not only of what we have been given, but a reflection of having given ourselves to Jesus. We desire to see the grace of God motivate our generosity because we want to see our church grow as disciples of Jesus and grow in their gifting on His mission. We want to see people in our city and Valley come to know and live like Jesus.

The work of God in Storehouse McAllen has been one of pure grace through the fruit of growth in spiritual formation. We are seeing leaders trained and developed, adults and children come to faith in Jesus, growth and discipleship in our community groups, and in the development of a student ministry coming this Spring.

As Storehouse McAllen grows and matures, opportunities do not just grow in number, but in complexity therefore we are praying for the addition of another staff member who can fully devote themselves to Storehouse McAllen’s discipleship strategy in order to help people connect, live, and grow in godliness in the contexts of biblical community and spiritual formation.

God’s grace has not only been a gift in our church, but in our community as we have explored partnerships with local schools, businesses, and in a collective of pastoral fellowship with churches who desire to see church planting and church health in McAllen and our Valley.

I am grateful for this season that God has placed us in. As we grow as disciples in this act of grace, let us consider first that our generosity begins with hearts shaped by grace. Second, because we know God’s grace, let it have an impact on us so that our generosity is motivated by grace in the area of spiritual formation.

I want to invite you to join us on mission here at Storehouse McAllen so that we would continue to be a gospel-centered church who makes disciples that know and live like Jesus in McAllen and our Valley.
