DOXA
Doxa is the Greek word for “glory” and our aim is to bring glory to God through an annual theological development program designed to help deepen your understanding of the Bible, Christian doctrine and history, and spiritual formation.
Doxa 101 serves as an entry-level theology course in systematic theology. By using the Apostles’ Creed, we study doctrines that are central to the Christian faith and examine each one over the course of 10 weeks. Each session begins with practical application and challenge of what has been taught so that participants have the opportunity to apply truths to everyday conversations with others. Assignments will vary.
Currently, we are expanding our DOXA program to include intermediate (102) and advanced (103) level courses that will begin in the Spring of 2024.
TEACHING LAB
The Teaching Lab prepares men and women to teach the BIble with confidence, humility, and zeal. The program includes lectures and group discussion, but primarily focuses on practice. Participants will be given opportunities to teach several times and will receive feedback from a pastor or bible teacher. This 10-week program is for those who are currently covenant members of Storehouse Community Church and serve in a leadership capacity where they will continue developing the skills they have gained.
PREACHING LAB
The Preaching Lab is a monthly cohort that prepares and develops men who have the gift and desire of preaching. This lab is part of pastoral development where preachers learn how to instruct the mind, ignite the heart, and challenge the will of the congregation. The program includes lectures, reading assignments, and group discussion, but is primarily focused on practice. Preachers are given opportunities to preach several times where they will receive feedback and assessment from a seasoned pastor. There may also be opportunities to preach at other churches within our network as well as in our own congregation on Sunday afternoon. This year-long program is for men who have the gift and desire of preaching, have completed a semester of the teaching lab, are current covenant members of Storehouse Community Church, and serve in a leadership capacity.
